Thinking out loud

Why is it when you are you running out of beads for a project, it is only by 1 or 2 that you are short? Oh, the disappointment when you realize you were almost complete. Oh well, at least I wasn't short on the wire that would have been a pain in the ass to correct . lol

Earrings for Christmas

It's time to make an array of wire wrapped earrings for the holidays. Aluminum wire is very popular since larger earrings can be made without the extra weight. I like to mix different types of wires together. The first pair is made from copper colored aluminum and wrapped with copper wire. Hand torched rose colored head pins add a splash of color.

The second pair is made from black oxidized steel wire. I call these Katydids. They remind me of  insects. :)

Retro~Heart necklace

I made this necklace with black oxidized steel and copper wire. The piece mimics the rhinestone jewelry my grandmother used to have in her jewelry box. The heart was decorated with blue and green faceted glass and then a patina was added to blend the two metals together. The chain is handmade with steel wire. It measures approximately 18 inches.
